  1. get a basket to carry groceries for ur bike any ride under 2.5 miles, ride ur bike instead of driving

  2. Slow down, obey the speed limit, use cruise control on the hwy, remove any excess weight from the trunk, or do what I plan to do, buy a very small car w/ a manual trans. Also, check tire pressure, make your errands efficient by doing everything together in one trip. Park at the store(s) centrally and walk from store to store even if it's across the street. Use a bike for short trips in town. Make one day a week the day you won't drive at all. Saving money is really all about thinking things through and being efficient. If you have a friend who insists on using her car, then use her car. Selfish I know, but if she's the one who wants to burn up gas, then let her have at it. You get to ride along for free. G'day!

  3. buy one of these cars hyondi accent or toyota Yaris

    they are fuel officiant and

drive in low RPM because the more RPM the more gas burn

  4. 1st make sure tire pressures are right, make sure vehicle is tuned up and good running order, try not to make multiple trips to store, if ya have a gas station close by walk or ride bike to get small stuff.

  5. Take a bus, train or metro to work.  Carpool with other employees to work or students to school.  Works for me!

  6. check your tire pressure, accelerate slower, drive the speed limit, use cruise control, drive stick-shift...

these days I usually just drive to get to the store and I take the bus or other public transportation for work, etc

  7. Buy a pre 1992 diesel vehicle, and run it on waste vegetable oils like me.

  8. remove all unneeded material from your car. unload all of the crud that we all stuff into the trunk. if you have not had a tune up done in quite a while, look into it.

  9. I reduced my gasoline bills by joining a virtual carpool.

  10. Changing your driving style only saves a percentage - nothing major.

    Still, do it, of course.

The biggest savings are in not using the vehicle.

  11. when ur driving ur car down a hill, shift it to neutral and turn the engine off and float down

Note: ur car will lose its power steering and power brakes, but it will still steer and the brakes will still work, but it will take more physical effort
