  1. this will sound weird but what I like to do whenever I give a speech is I hold something in my hand like a paper clip or something that I can constantly fidget with if I get nervous and release that energy into

like if my hands start shaking abit I'll just keep scrunching that paper clip in my hand and eventually it calms me down

    try it :)

  2. I used to take an immodium about an hour before my speeches in speech class. believe it or not, it works. they do make you drowsy and of course are for diarrhea, but it calms your nerves, without having to take xanax, etc. eventually, i was comfortable enough to not have to take any. good luck.

  3. RELAX DEEP BREATH AND SPEAK SLOWLY

  4. Practice, Practice, Practice!

Scare? Just throw yourself into uncharted waters. Eventually you'll learn from it and become comfortable.

Over coming fears isn't fun and it may look like you're not progressing, but you are.

  5. Tell yourself you are not afraid. Convince yourself that you love the challenge of giving a speech. If you have a problem with jittery hands, clutch a paper clip or something in your fist behind your back or in your pocket (this is what my dad does to hide his parkinsons when giving a speech or something). If you are believer, say a little prayer beforehand.

Practice your speech so that you know it perfectly, this will help you not to get tongue-tied and feel more confident about your speech.

Remember that the people who are listening to you want you to do well and want your speech to be a success, they are not thinking bad of you. Good luck!

  6. Eat a Banana! My kids did a speech about doing a speech and that was  that helped.
