Question:

Tips on taking out and putting in contact lenses?

Today I got contact lenses, and my doctor showed me how to put it in and take it out, and then he made ME try it. It was kinda difficult, but in the end I got it. I don't think the way he taught me was the right way for me. He told me while putting in contacts to put my chin all the way down and take my middle finger and pull my eye lid down. And then take my index finger and place the contact in my eye while I was looking upwards. That was pretty hard, considering the fact that I kept blinking. And taking it out was pretty hard too. I had to put my chin down again, take my middle finger and pull my eye lid down and look upwards. I then had to pull the contact onto the white part of my eye. Then with my index finger and my thumb I had to pull it out squeezing the two fingers together. I get how to do this, and I can do it. But does anyone please have a better theory or something?

  1. I do just about everything your doctor told you, except I tilt my head up.  It's much easier getting it out and looking in the mirror.  Try it, and see if it works good for you. Good luck!

  2. I usually just look straight ahead into the mirror so i can see what I'm doing. I've also found it's a little easier to pull on the upper eyelid rather than the lower. Don't worry - with practice, you'll work out a way that works well for you, and it will become routine and very easy in no time! Just make sure you always clean your lenses well
