Okay well I'm going to be a freshman in the high school colorguard this year. We practice a lot over the summer [we already have been] and I need some tips on how to have a cute high ponytail that wont fall out. We are very very serious about our guard so i don't want to keep having to re-tie my hair. I have an all day practice tomorrow morning early so please make it something I don't have to spend TOO much time on, Thanks :]

P.S. I'll prob be wearing a hat tomorrow.

  1. i agree with the hair spray..

i'd also secure my hair with barettes or hairclips.

  2. Well, speaking as someone who has thick hair that often falls out of a ponytail AND did guard for 10+ years, here's what I would advise:

    1) Put your hair up when it's wet, after you shower.  Use an elastic especially designed for thick hair (even if your hair is normal).

    2) Clip underneath the ponytail and on the sides and top.

    3) Wear one of those elastic headbands to keep the front out of your eyes.

BTW, I would skip the spray.  You don't want it running in your eyes when you start to sweat.

    Good luck with band camp!

  3. try using the ponytails with the grips on them also use lots of hairspray.

  4. Well, if you haven't tried aleady, try hairclips.

the more there you put on, the more secure your hair would be.

that's what I do when I need my hair to stay still on my ponytail.

Other than that, maybe gel ? hairspray? =]

  5. use a few hairbinders. like i'll use at least 3 for dance practice especially for turning.

make sure you tie your hair binder tight enough.

maybe a little bit of hair spray.
