  5. One VERY easy tip: RECYCLE, RECYCLE, RECYCLE!

You don't know HOW much that helps out our environment and wildlife. And if you have a few extra bucks, why not try to donate it to a wildlife organization such as WWF? Also, you can by the new luminescent lightbulbs (spiral shaped) and that saves a lot of energy. Keep windows open when hot, and turn all lights off when you are leaving your house or going to sleep. You can also do a small thing such as buying eco-friendly pencils for school at Office Depot :p

  6. recycle,if possible, become a vegitarian. Also carpooling is a great idea because there is less polution in the air.

  7. 1. Buy things that can be used over and over again instead of buying disposable items.

    2. Buy well made items that last a long time.

3.Take bags with you when you go shopping.

    4. Buy products in the largest size you can use.

    5. Buy products in containers you can recycle.

    6. Use rechargeable batteries in toys, flashlights, and radios.

7.Switch to cloth napkins, sponges, and cloth towels or wipes.

    8. Use washable plates, cups, silverware, even for parties/picnics instead of disposable products.

    9. Clean and take care of appliances, computers, and cars so they will last longer.

    10. Consider sharing equipment with neighbors/friends like hedge clippers, pruners, fruit pickers, or chain saws.

    11. Fill a water bottle with tap water rather than buying bottled water.

    12. Don't leave lights on when nobody's in the room.

    13. Where possible, use compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs). [Saves energy and lasts longer]

    14. Turn off the tv, computers, radios, and stereos when nobody's using them.

    15. In warm weather, set the thermostat at 78 degrees and when no one is home, set it at 85 degrees.

    16. If you can, use ceiling fans instead of air conditioners.

    17. In cold weather, wear warm clothing and set your thermostat to 68 degrees or lower.

    18. If you have a fireplace, close the damper when you don't have a fire burning.

    19. Keep the curtains closed on cold, cloudy days to help keep the cold outside.

    20. If you need to warm up small amounts of food, use a microwave instead of the stove or hot water.

21.Don't keep the refrigerator door open any longer than you need to.

    22. Replace old appliances with new, energy efficient ones.

    23. Use a rake--not a leaf blower.

    24. Share rides (carpool), ride a bike, walk or use public transporation.

25.Water your lawn only when it needs it.

    26. Put a layer of mulch around trees/plants to slow down evaporation.

    28. Use a bucket of water to wash your car instead of a hose.

    30. Only run full loads in the washing machine and dishwasher.

    31. Use a broom instead of a hose to clean driveways and sidewalks.

    32. If you wash dishes by hand, don't leave the water running for rinsing.

    35. If you have a pool, use a pool cover to cut down on evaporation.

    36. Try buying products made with recycled materials.

    37. Never sweep garbage or leaves into the gutter. Put garbage in the trash container and put leaves in your green waste container.
