  1. I live right next to Rutgers!

try to enjoy every minute.College is fun. DOnt drink too much though

  2. First, get oriented to your classes and your schedule.  That will take a few weeks.  Make sure you have all your deadlines etc. on a big calendar!

After that, seek out opportunities for clubs and other activities that you might enjoy.  You'll find that all the freshman are looking for ways to be connected, as many of you are in the same boat!  Don't overdue it, though especially as a commuting student.

Seek out people for group study, as that will help you get to know people and also you can divide up and reinforce the class lectures.  I always approached people and was rarely disappointed.  Challenge yourself--join debate!

  3. Those with friends are the ones who show themselves to be friendly.

  4. Be careful but join a sorority. I was in one. I was drunk most my first 2 yrs and did bad in grades. BUT had I made better judgements and knew what i did now..things would be different. Its all about life though and letting go and having fun. You are not supposed to know the things you will when you are in your 30s. Seriously though- if you join a sorority, be careful. Have fun.

  5. you should chill with a bunch of commuters.  I bet that would make you closer.
