Tipsarevic, Kohlschreiber, Becker and Kamke sing up for 2013 Power Horse Cup – Tennis News
World number 20, Philipp Kohlschreiber, has confirmed his participation in the next edition of the Power Horse World Team Cup that will be contested in Dusseldorf from 19-25 May, 2013. He will be joined in by the two compatriots
Benjamin Becker (ranked 65) and Tobias Kamke (ranked 98). A foreign player will accompany the three hometown heroes; the ninth ranked Serbian tennis star, Janko Tipsarevic.
The Tournament Director, Dietloff von Arnim, was ecstatic to have all the local heroes onboard for the next edition of the event. He stated, “With Kohlschreiber, Becker and Kamke in the line-up, it means three German top tennis
players will be competing at the Rochusclub. Its great news and we’re very happy.”
The event organisers are looking out for some fresh faces for the new edition of the tournament. They are eager to get high quality players onboard which will increase the viewership of the Association of Tennis Professionals World
Tour 250 clay-court tournament. Arnim added, “We are currently in a lot of discussions and I’m positive we’ll have more good news soon.”
Kohlschreiber who is also the brand ambassador for the tournament was delighted to sign the contract that bounds him to feature in the 2013’s version of the tournament. He stated, “The Rochusclub offers the best possible conditions
and the atmosphere is simply unbelievable. I’m really looking forward to the tournament.”
Tipsarevic is the strongest contestant from the lot who has already signed up to feature at Dusseldorf in 2013. The 28-year-old Serb registered an unbeaten run in this year’s edition of the tournament; defeating the event’s brand
ambassador in the third Round Robin contest before dispatching the sixth ranked Czech star, Tomas Berdych, in the final.
He participated in two other versions of the tournament and clinched a title for his country in 2009 as well. So, there are some good memories associated for the Serb at the state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia where he wants
to extend the run in 2013 as well.
Kohlschreiber will look to dismantle the confidence of the defending champion with the support from the crowd. However, the quality possessed by the experienced Serb tennis ace is far superior than the 29-year-old German which
will definitely play a very strong role in deciding the winner between the two athletes.
