Tipsy Dara tipped to thrive at Carlisle – Handicap Chase Preview
The N. W. Alexander-trained young mare, Tipsy Dara, is expected to show a big run at Carlisle racecourse today, March 8 and win the high-stakes contest of ‘Edinburgh Woollen Mill Novices’ Handicap Chase’ which will commence at 3:15 (GMT).
The Class 4 contest of 2m5f distance has £3,054 of prize money. The talented mare is set to run against seven competitors including Rich Lord, Honest John, Ballyoliver, Classical Mist, Soul Bid, Sir Tamburlane and Shadow Boxer.
Tipsy Dara accomplished the first and last triumph of his career on January 26, 2012. She went on to finish third in his last outing on February 14.
Since making her debut, the brilliant mare has run for 9 times. She has performed well on every sort of tracks so far.
But it is for the first time that the young racer is going to run at Carlisle ground. Though there lies great uncertainty about her today’s outing, but her track record suggest that she will surely keep her head high and excel her competitors.
It seems that 2012 is somewhat luckier for the mare and she is going to capitalise on this luck in the Handicap Chase.
Tipsy Dara’s chances to finish first in this race are more than 80 percent but her journey towards the finish line is not likely to be easy as Shadow Box and Classical Mist will give her rather tough time.
Shadow Box also registered his maiden victory in January 2012. Being an 11-8 favourite, the gelding went on to finish second in his last outing on January 26.
As a whole, the trainee of Donald Whillans has run for 11 times to date. He is likely to fight hard today.
On the other hand, Classical Mist bagged the first and last success of her career in October 2011. In her last start on February 20 at Carlisle track, the David O’Meara-trained mare finished second.
At the same track again, she is going to do well today.
Thus, there will be witnessed a tough tug-of-war among the above three worthy runners. Tipsy Dara needs to show an offensive run from the very start. Good luck to all the runners.
