Tire Question, Throwing me around?!?!?!

I was on the highway the other night and my car felt like it wanted to go the way it wanted to go. It felt as if it wanted to fly in the other lane. What could it be, do you think it could be because I need new tires?

sounds more like a suspention problem, these can be very dangerous if a tierod or ball joint came loose when on the highway you could loose control and not get control back. Take the vehicle to a tire shop that does front end alinments, they can check the suspention and tell you whats wrong.
