  1. Fire at the plants is a major problem, but the tires provide an excellent habitat for mosquitoes.  With the rise in illnesses passed by mosquitoes they pose a health threat in addition to env. threat.


  2. How about we take all of the old tires and find all of the homes of you tree hugging hippie douche bags and keep them in your basements. Maybe you can make them into art.

  3. I know tires have been pulled from the waste stream for years. In my area they seemed to just be stored in huge fields. We have a had a couple of the storage areas catch fire, and it is very bad, it pollutes the earth and the ground water, not to mention the air and they have to just let the tires burn themselves out. They can burn for years.

    If someone has a way to recycle the tires that is great. That will reduce the number of tires waiting around to catch fire. I know I have a couple pairs of shoes that have soles made out of recycled tires. They work and look great.
