  1. I'm guessing that you meant a 245/70R/17 right? The 245 is the section width. Do not confuse this with the tread width. 245 is the width in millimeters at the widest point of the tire-always measured side wall to side wall. The 70 is the aspect ratio of the tire. It means that in this case the side wall height of the tire is 70% of the section width, or, 70% of 245-Roughly 170 mm. The R simply means that it's a radial tire. If it had a B, that would be a bias ply tire, there's not many of them used any more except for some off road tires. 17 is the rim diameter measured in inches.

In english, your tire has a section width of about 9 5/8" a side wall height of about 6 5/8" and a rim diameter of 17". The tread width is probably around 7".

The general rule of thumb is that the rim width should be within 2" of the section width. The difference in yours is about 1 5/8" so, you should be fine. Keep in mind that all these measurements are approximate. Check with a tire store to be sure.

  2. 27 inche and 17 inche pretty sure its not going to work... never seen a 27 inche wheel.... big trucks take 22.5 and 24's and im guessing yes they will fit a 8 inch.. if your tire is a 70
