Tire.. will a 110/100-18 tire fit on a rim with a tire marked 140/80-18?

anyone know if i could fit a 110/100-18 tire on a rim with a 140/80-18 tire?

  1. It will fit, but how well will it handle? You're stretching the tire's intended profile quite a bit, much more than was ever intended by either its designers or your motorcycle's.

    Don't take a chance, just to save a few bucks.


  2. Not a good idea. You're giving up a lot of 'footprint',

    and that means traction.

  3. it will absolutly fit.   The width is different as the 110 is 110mm wide and the 140 is 140 mm wide.  But they are close to the same radius..

    110/100-18         4.3in  13.3in    26.7in         83.8in        756        0.0%

    140/80-18         4.4in  13.4in    26.8in         84.3in        752        0.6%

    your speedometer wil be approximatly .6% faster reading that with the orginal tire...
