Tired of Michelle Wie?

When I first heard of this remarkable woman golfer I expected she would do wonders for the LPGA like Tiger did for the PGA. Now as her career has led her to this point of never winning a tournament on the LPGA and never making a cut on the PGA I have to wonder if her popularity will spiral down to non existence.

I personally feel that this girl could have been great if she chose to stick to the LPGA tour and win instead of making a spectical of herself on the PGA tour. She and her parents come off as prematurely arrogant and I am quite tired of it. I have completely lost interest in her and respect for her because of her bad choices.

How do you feel about her now that she has again not made a cut in a mens PGA event, and an event that didn't even have the best players in the game over going to play in the LPGA British Open?

I think she's making a fool of herself by playing on the PGA tour.

Get Lorena Ochoa or Paula Creamer to try and play the men's tour then That would be good television!

any mens event with michelle wie is irrelevant to me. in fact any event involving women golfers is irrelevant. the meaning of the word golf prohibits women from playing. Gentlemen Only Ladies Forbidden. lets get them back in the kitchen and away from the golf course. playing behind 2 women always turns a 4 hour round into a 5 hour round with there blatant lack of etiquette.

You know, I've been a supporter of the kid for a while now but now I'm about to throw in the towel.  To pass up qualifying for the British Open to get some bucks to appear in a men's tourney just stinks.  She keeps making the wrong moves again and again and now she's gotten to be a d**n joke.  It's too bad - we will never know how good she could have been.

I had to hear how great she is... over and over... how she's going to do amazing things and play in the Masters and change the women's game and yada, yada, yada...  

Now I get to enjoy her demise, and missing cuts and shooting 80+.

She may not have gotten into the Women's British, she had to qualify...  She's 18 now, 19 in October...  There are better, younger, more accomplished players than her on the LPGA Tour.  She's the Anna Kournikova of golf.

In a few short years Michelle Wie has gone from a teenage phenom to a sports writers human punching bag thanks to a golf game that is never more than a couple of strokes away from catastrophe. Originally presented to the media by her stage father B.J. as a youngster who could hit the ball 300 yards, Michelle has since been a textbook in futility trying to live up to all the hyperbole heaped upon her. Now that it appears that her reputation is in permanent tatters, all the naysayers can rest comfortably satisfied in the knowledge they were right all along.

The question should be who allowed a girl with all the natural ability in the world fall to the level of self-immolation? Responsibility certainly lies at the feet of her sponsors Nike and Sony, along with greedy tournament directors in search of a cash cow who enter Wie in mens PGA events way over her head. But most of all, the blame sits with the Wie family themselves who continue to market her as a female Tiger Woods, a now 18 year-old who has not won a single LPGA event and is allowed to enter tournaments only through the wizardry of sponsors exemptions.

With a complete golfing mismatch in place everyone stands back to watch as the unintentional comedy ensues. Each time Michelle Wie "swings for the fences" her mechanics brake down. And each time that happens her ball has an uncanny ability to end up rebounding off of rocks, trees, plants and animals. A long par 5 suddenly becomes a double, triple, quadruple bogey and the knee-slapping guffaws from weekend duffers can be heard in clubhouses throughout the land.

So in the end will this be the final fate of Michelle Wie, to be a asterisk in the record books and a comedic foil and source of loathing for golf "purists.?" Perhaps.

i dont understand why she enters PGA Tour events when she cant even win a LPGA Tour event.  I really want her to just go away and take her game back to LPGA Tour where she belongs.
