Tired of asking politicians to fight for our equality?

Even though I think we g**s deserve full equality, we don't

even have a Democratic Presidential candidate who is pro g*y marriage. Civil unions don't cross state lines and that is not equality. Maybe we should exercise power of attorney and other legal means of securing our rights in relationships and heck with the polls? (Although I will always cast my vote!)

  1. I've exercised durable powers of attorney, living wills, advanced directives, a very detailed will, etc. — and I also realize in Texas that's only as good as the doctors, nurses and judges who are willing to honor those instruments.

I know every well if I'm in a life or death situation and the doctor/nurse/judge is a fundagelical Christian, all those instruments my partner and I have created don't mean c**p in Texas.

Which is also a reason why I became a Democratic Socialist.  I'm tired of being courted by a party once every two to four years for three months before an election, promised the sky, and then being told to wait because "there are more pressing issues which have to be dealt with".

  2. You do know it's political suicide to be pro-g*y marriage?
