Tired of motorway traffic; why not pull into the nearside lane?

Some idiots have got it into their heads that the outside lane is the fast lane, NOT IN THE UK! Its a lane for overtaking only!

I got so pi**ed off today going along the A14, a lorry half a mile ahead in the nearside lane, and a line of cars in the outside lane doing 75mph....

I was doing 92mph in the outside lane, i was no longer overtaking anyone so i pulled into the nearside lane and happened to overtake the cars in the outside lane.....

I then overtook the lorry, a lot of people flashed there lights at me, for using my brain and pulling into the nearside lane like you should.

So if your every stuck in traffic pull into the nearside lane! its that easy.

  1. What a prize idiot you are! Yes it is wrong to stay in the middle or outside lanes if you are not overtaking, but undertaking - at 92mph? You are ten times worse than they are! What if someone pulls in, not expecting you to be undertaking them? At that speed you would have no chance of failing to cause a major accident.  You really should grow up. Speeding in inappropriate circumstances kills - and that is a very inappropriate circumstance! I'm afraid it is a fact you will have to accept - you do NOT own the motorway and you were wrong.

  2. ????

    A14 is NOT a Motorway

    UNDERTAKING is dangerous

    SPEEDING kills!

So thats what you call using your brain?

I think you have a very valid point about lane discipline, but you are just as bad as all the drivers who hog the offside lane with the way you say you are driving. I certainly would not like to be undertaken by someone doing 90+ on an A road.

  3. I can't beleive you just got called a good driver for foing 92mph!

However i see your point, and it is valid.

  4. The reason lane hogging is not a good idea is because it causes impatient drivers to do idiotic things.

    Lane hogging is very bad.

Undertaking at 92 mph is even worse.

  5. On UK motorways the left lane is the running lane all lanes to the right are for overtaking. I have to wonder about your driving standard, 92mph then undertaking other cars both of which is illegal in the UK, it seems to me the one thing you are not using is your brain or you are so pre-occupied with other peoples driving habits that the distraction is making you a moving hazard.

In case your wondering I have 42 years driving experience 23 of those as a profession driver and I've driven thousands of safe motorway miles in all weathers and conditions.

  6. well said ... snipers on motorway bridges can be the only answer

  7. It maybe it`s also 8points for under-taking, so your a good driver, think not

  8. your absolutely spot on

when did it become compulsory to stay in the outside lane and hog it for the entire journey holding everyone else up

and what about the middle lane hoggers where the motorway is empty but they still insist on staying in the middle lane doing 65 miles an hour forcing you into the outside lane to pass them

    grrrrrr
