Tiredness and serving question?

when i play tennis for about 40min or more, my arm gets tired and i can't serve as well. what can i do to prevent my arm from getting as tired. what should my first serve usually be? should i slice, hit it flat, or hit with topspin?

  1. To prevent your arm from getting tired you just have to keep practicing.  You will build the "serving" muscles and you will be able to play a lot longer.  Your first serve should be a hard but accurate serve.  There should be some slice on it but not too much or you'll lose the velocity.


  2. Do stamina exercises for your arms using light weights.  You're not necessarily trying to bulk up your arm muscles, just increasing your stamina.

  3. Drink plenty of water to keep u from getting tired, and take a little break before its your time to serve. Like 15 seconds or so. Thats what I do.

    Also, do push ups daily to build stronger muscles. That is what I am currently doing every day. Practice at least 45 minutes a day playing tennis, and do around 100 push ups if possible.
