  1. Its hard to say without seeing a picture of what you are planning.  I would go to a craft store and check out silk flowers, you can usually find those fairly cheap.  Stores like hobby lobby always seem to have 40% off sales.

  2. I know what you are talking about and yes, they would look tacky. I agree with the person who said to use silk if you are on a budget or you can try and buy flowers wholesale online...you can get carnations pretty cheap that way.

  3. for decor and not actualy bouquets I think the right ones can be great

there you can get kits at walmart or craft stores-by martha stuart

  4. Yes, they ARE tacky!  Think about ordering fresh flowers from your grocery store because they are inexpensive. You can buy a dozen of carnations for less than a box of tissue.  Here's a great article on how to save on decorations and your wedding:

  5. I would go with silk flowers instead because it does seem a little out dated and if you use the ones made of tissues you may loose them when your guest go to shedding happy tears of joy (sorry just trying to add a little bit of humor to your already stressful occasion) Best Wishes and congratulations to you on your upcoming wedding hope you have many happy years together

  6. My grandmother grew hydrangias in her garden and cut them for my wedding. She was so excited to do that for me and they were gorgeous. Also, another way to save money is ask everyone in your extended family to plant flowers for you to use at your wedding. You can cut them and put them in vases or keep them in pots. It is an easy thing for people to do to help out and they will be proud to know they helped with your flowers.

Tissue, I would make some first and look to see how they look.

  7. I think they are a little outdated....but if thats what you can afford, thats what you do. But as stated before, you can buy silk flowers for fairly cheap. Michaels often has 40% or 50% off coupons in the paper...as does AC Moore. Goodluck =)

  8. At least use silk flowers if you don't want to have to pay for real flowers (which is perfectly understandable!)

  9. i don't know if i would use kleenex, i would use tissue paper in the colors of your wedding.

  10. There are good quality silk flowers and there are bad quality silk flowers. I just had a consultation w/ my florist for my wedding and she told me that silk flowers have gone up in price. By the time you work it out you're better off using real flowers.

  11. yes that will look tacky

  12. They will, but something very similar would be fine, just with more updated materials - like tissue paper,  and design.
