Titan Diamond favourite for Shares In Duke Of Marmalade @heartoftheosuth.net Handicap
Titan Diamond has the best chances for winning the Shares In Duke Of Marmalade @heartoftheosuth.net Handicap (Div II of 4.30pm) at Brighton in England on Tuesday, May 22, 2012. The winner of the class-6 event will bag a cash prize of £1,617.
The going will be good to firm in the 7 furlong 214 yard race, which will test the speed of all participants. The action is scheduled to begin at 17:00 GMT and following entries have been confirmed: Cristaliyev, Titan Diamond, Fault, Inquisitress,
Jumeirah Liberty, Lightning Spirit, Having A Ball, Chandrayaan, Ansells Pride and Holyfield Warrior.
Earlier, Mcconnell and Danceyourselfdizzy were also expected to take part in the race, but their participation is doubtful now. Both had a lot of experience, but lacked good form coming into the race at Brighton.
Looking at the experience of Fault, the bookies had rated him as favourite to win the race. However, his performances in recent times have been a touch inconsistent, which indicate that he will not be able to finish on top of the table.
The six-year-old gelding has take part in 72 events, winning 10 of them and finishing runners up on five occasions. Moreover, he also ended up third on nine times, which shows that he is fully capable of fighting at the front.
However, the Alastair Lidderdale’s trainee was unable to deliver a solid result in his most recent outing, where he finished 11th overall. Although he has up against some very good runners, he was expected to finish amongst the top five.
He is not carrying the winning momentum, thus it will not be a clever idea to risk more bets on him.
Fault will be partnered by Jemma Marshall, who has a poor strike rate, which is not a positive sign for any jockey in the sport. He will need to make a significant improvement in order to lift his strike rate.
On the other hand, Titan Diamond seems to be in a much better position to walk away with a victory at Brighton, as he has done well over the past couple of events. He was victorious in his most recent run, despite not being rated as the favourite to
win.
However, the four-year-old gelding will definitely be a force to reckon with in the race. He will be partnered by Racheal Kneller.
