How many of you agree that the pax ship TITANIC sank not by hitting Iceberg off NewFOundLand, but because of the rivetted side shell plates gave way due to exessive viberation caused by the order of the poor captain to increse the brand new engine speed beyond the limits and water ingressed through the side watertight compartments. She did not break into two.

  1. I think the prevailing theory is the cold water and brittle iron contributed to the sinking, but the proximate cause was hitting the iceberg.  That it hit the iceberg is established fact.  There were hundreds of survivors (including crew) who testified to that.

The ship did break, but not from the collision with the iceberg.  With the bow down, the heavy, engine laden stern rose out of the water.  Unsupported and damaged, the structural integrity gave way and the stern broke off.  This was witnessed and the found wreckage supported that fact.

  2. Oh Hun, the Titanic sank way closer to North America than Europe. It did not break from beneath like thought but broke/folded from above.  The proof lies with the wreckage. The ship did not lift anywhere close to as high as it did in the movie. I love that you are interested, the world should never forget.

  3. Much research has already been done and could not yield 100% proof of exact reasons. So enhancing the engine speed is enough to make troubles in that location with icebergs. You have to scientifically prove your findings.
