Titans' quarterback Matt Hasselbeck likely for next game despite being limited in practice – NFL News
Tennessee Titans’ coach Mike Munchak has been lucky once more in finding solution to his problem of deciding who will be starting at the quarterback position for the Titans in their next game: Matt Hasselbeck or the rookie Jake
Locker?, as Hasselbeck despite being declared uncertain joined his side for practice on Thursday, raising hopes for his return.
The Titans are playing the winless Indianapolis Colts in Indianapolis into National Football League (NFL) Week 15 this Sunday and expected their star quarterback to rejoin them for the game.
Despite being limited in practice on Thursday the team management was sure that Hasselbeck would be available for their Colts game on the weekend.
"If he's not feeling he can do things, he'll be honest with us," Titans coach Mike Munchak said Thursday. "He knows we want to win. He wants to start, and we want him to start. If for some reason he's not at his best, we'll rethink
the position. Right now we're all thinking positively that he's going to be the starter."
Hasselbeck was injured in Titans game against the New Orleans Saints on past Sunday, which they lost 17-22. He hurt his left calf. He had been declared uncertain by his team until yesterday since he had missed his Wednesday practice.
He however joined the squad for practice on Thursday and despite being limited in workout raised the Colts expectations over his return for their next game.
Titans’ game against the Colts is as important for them as their two more games to go this season. They have to win all of them to keep their hopes for a wild card berth in the playoff alive.
Tennessee Titans are with 7-6 score in the current regular season of National Football League (NFL) and if they manage to pull of victories in all their remaining three games and make it to playoff, it will be their first playoff
berth with Munchak in charge as a head coach.
They however also need to closely watch games of their rivals including the Cincinnati Bengals and New York Jets who too are aiming for a wild card playoff berth.
