Lorenzo will miss his home GP : http://www.crash.net/motorsport/motogp/news/164467-0/lorenzo_ruled_out_of_catalunya.html

This is a damm shame.

Not only would I like to see him take some points of Pedrosabot, but another all Yamaha podium would be nice. Edwards or JT, either would be great!!

Lorenzo said early this week that the title hunt was gone, but I thought he still stood a good chance, after this, he might be right.

Your thoughts please?

  1. Yea its a shame he could have gone for the title, the only way to stay near Rossi and Pedro is if they both crash some time. But hes still young and this is his first year so i think he will be champion someday.

My personal favorites are Toseland and Pedrosa and i think Hayden should get fired (which he probably will at the end of the season) and Toseland should take his place cuz he deserves to be on good factory machine to fight for the title.

  2. Poor little poppet! He surely is having a tough time of it!

Maybe he should take up knitting - less chance of an injury- but if you wanted a sensible answer; ditto Neilgti and roll on next year for Horhe!

  3. That's just not fare. The poor guy went through h**l and still did whatever he could to keep racing and winning. Although I find him a bit cocky, I thought he is an amazing racer. The other thing that disappoints me is that Pedrosa will keep winning points (and believe me, I don't want this!)

I was hoping so much for 4 Yamahas in top 6 and now this, a real disappointment. I'm sure Edwards and Toseland (who I start liking more and more) will keep the good work and Yamaha will be getting more points, but again, it's no fun when they are 3 and not 4...

as for the title hunt, I have a crazy theory. If Pedrosa falls or something happens and he doesn't finish, and Stoner keeps the Ducati problems, and Lorenzo is back in the next race with a win, I think he could actually end up second (after Vale, who is just better and doesn't deserve loosing the title again). But of course it's just a theory, and that Dani boy will keep annoying me. I even prefer Stoner being after Vale's *** and not that Honda arrogant idiot, who's just too... i don't know even what word to use....

  4. Hi wiggysan

Yeh its a real shame. I never really liked the kid in 125 & 250. I thought he was an arrogant **** who's sucsess was more due to the machinery he was on rather than pure talent compared to Pedrosa, Stoner, Dovi etc.

But I'm happy to admit that I was wrong. Not only is he far more talented than I origanally thought, but he's also humble enough to admit when he's made a mistake, and corageous beyond belief to still race competitively with the injuries he had.

He's probably right, that the championship is beyond him now. But he's got a bright future ahead of him, and Yamaha should count themselves lucky that they have a decent replacement for Rossi when he finally goes off to 4 wheels.

  5. Its a real shame, as Lorenzo has looked like championship material from day one, when he stays on his bike......

He may well be out of the title hunt now but remember, it only takes retirement from Rossi/ Pedrosa/ Stoner and a few good results from Lorenzo and the title chase will be wide open again.

  6. Hi Wiggysan, although I agree with Neilgtti about his ability and courage. I'm still keeping my love to hate him attitude. I still think Dovi is the better rider and just needs the wheels to prove it. but that aside,  it was a bad crash, he hit his feet and head hard. and its usually a call to miss the race if a rider gets a whack to the head. or goes unconscious, which he may have done by the reports. I don't think he would have been in the fight tomorrow anyway. its a 3 wayer again. close call too.

I think he might have still had a title chance. but his confidence must be taking a beating now. though I seem to remember Rossi learning the 500s could bite too.

  7. I just saw that on eurosport's web

It's such bad news,I feel very sorry for him.Trouble keeps hunting him and that's unfair because he's one of the most motivated riders on the GP.I am trying to figure out why is this happening to him,is it just bad luck or destany or sth of the kind or it is him burning out of ambitions.

I couldn't watch the qualifying practice today but.....what is going on here.  1."Surprised" Stoner

2.Pedrosa(the only who matched my expectations)

but then 3.Hayden,4.De Puniet........9.Rossi   I'm completely out of vocabulary.I hope that tommorrow Rossi makes up for Jorge's absence and he gets back healthy as soon as possible.
