  1. actually, yesterday at golfsmith, i hit the callaway forged irons, and they felt amazing to hit.  the titleist drivers are great though, and titleist balls are great because they give you more spin.

  2. You can go into debt in this sport.Go with what you can afford.

  3. i prefer titelist i own a driver and a 3 wood by them and love them it all depends on which one feels and looks better visually when you address the ball and when you look at them in the store your buying it at go for the one you feel  most confident with. remember confidence is key.

  4. well it all depends i suggest that you go to your local pro shop and demo some clubs but i prefer titleist, nothing i have ever hit compared to the pro v, but that might just be me it depends on swingspeed, and skill level, i used to have a callaway x driver but switched to cobra and added about 10 more yards so i say titleist

  5. Callaway clubs are more controllable especially in driving and fairway shots. Club weight in Titleist is more than in Callaway. As for golf balls, go for used ones if you are a social golfer. If slightly more serious, I suggest go for Ultra.

  6. Do not limit your self to just those two brands. With the USGA clamping down on technology and what companies can do with it, most of the top club makers have maxed out the MOI and manufacturing processes to the point that they are all pretty equal and perform very well. I reccomend working with a retailer that can provide you with solid clubfitting services. Callaway - Titleiest, Taylormade - Cobra - Ping etc. are all solid brands.

Here is a guidline I reccomend you follow

Be Honest with the clubfitter about your ability and handicap

Make sure you have the correct shaft flex for your swing speed - This should not be an issue if you are getting fit at a shop -

Correct loft on the driver is oftern over looked and can have a major impact  on distance and accuracy

Golf is a head game - make sure you like the way the clubs look at set up /address.

  7. Callaway all the way!!!

As for the balls, Callaway just WON a lawsuit against Titleist for patent infringement.

  8. Both are excellent manufacturers of clubs.  Titleist is concentrating on providing forged clubs usually used by lower handicap players.  Calloway has a more extensive line going from the forged blade to extreme game improvement, oversized, cast, perimeter weighted, graphite shaft etc.  Both are pretty high end price-wise so best to get some professional help being fitted etc before purchasing either.

  9. I use Titleist irons 755 forged and Callaway drivers.  Titleist has the best balls and they are worth the money.  Dont listen to anyone who says different or you will get laughed at when you go to the course.  When water around pull out a c**p ball no sense in lossing a 4 dollar ball.

  10. Both of the brands of clubs are good solid brands but if you want to know what is better for you it all depends on you and you size. For some people, Titlest is better and for some Callaway is better. You need to ask a pro if you want to know what would work better for you. As for golf balls, it all depends on what you like the feel for and which bettter reacts after you make contact with the ball. You need to decide that one for yourself

  11. Between those two Callaway all the way, On clubs and balls.  Everybody says the Pro V1's are the best but now the courts just said the Tour 1's are the same thing.

  12. Element 21 clubs embarass the aforementioned.

  13. Callaway HX Tour ball is the best I've ever played.

  14. If your a better player (scratch to 5 handicap) you know that the playability and feel of Titleist clubs are just the best. I absolutely love my Titleist 905 R w/ Aldila NV shaft. Callaway has some good clubs such as the X forged irons and their wedges are not all that bad but Titleist still reigns supreme. As for the balls, I find that the hx tours by callaway are too soft and cut very easily while the pro v1 and pro v1x are very durable and are perfect tee to green.

  15. i have not get the chance to try the titleist ,but i have tryed the callaway big bertha, they are fantastic! ,but u shd try out on your own, right now im using a full set of taylormade R7

  16. Both brands of clubs are good. If you are just a "weekend golfer" with a high handicap, spending big bucks on expensive clubs isn't worth it. However if you are persistent you can find great clubs at thrift stores and pawn shops. Advertising is THE major difference in club quality unless you're a 15 handicapper or less. If Tiger wasn't getting a rather large furtune to wear the Nike  logo and use their equipment, how long do you think it would take him to find a new sponsor---and continue to win!
