The Brazilian international is confident that his side’s new head coach has faith in his ability.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-c9879 Alves is looking forward to working with his side’s new manager, Tito Vilanova, as he believes that the Spaniard is capable of maintaining La Blaugrana’s success rate under his reign.
Alves stressed that a new trainer at the helm of affairs will not affect the Catalan giants, as he exclaimed that Vilanova will have his own unique impact at the Nou Camp.
The Brazilian is adamant that the man, who formerly worked as Pep Guardiola’s assistant, will do great things at the Catalan capital since he has his own different methods and tactics.
Tito was brought in by Barca as replacement for the club’s former boss, Josep Guardiola. Prior to being given the reigns of the Spanish giants, the Spaniard served as an assistant coach for the last 4 seasons.
Pep’s time as the head coach of the Azulgrana is believed to be one of the best periods in the history of the Catalan outfit. The Catalan tactician took charge of the side in the summer of 2008 and led the club to great success during his 4-year tenure.
Guardiola’s time as the Barca boss saw the Spanish giants reach dizzying heights in the world of football and the Catalans managed to win 14 titles out of a total of 18.
However, Alves is convinced that the trophies will keep coming to the Camp Nou despite a change in management.
While talking to reporters, the defender was quoted as saying:
“Tito has his own very clear ideas about what he wants. The squad will help ensure that the fans continue to enjoy our game. I am going into the new season with the same ambition and desire that I had when I joined the Club.”
“There is no greater motivation than playing in the best team in the world. Vilanova has said he has confidence in me and I want to repay that the big challenge is to stay competitive and put in a good season.”
Barcelona will start their Spanish La Liga season next month.
