The inexperienced trainer will get a chance to make his mark, as La Blaugrana take on the Blancos in the Supercopa de Espana.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604’s Tito Vilanova is keenly looking ahead to his side’s encounter against their fiercest rivals, Real Madrid, in the final of the Spanish Super Cup.
The final will take place prior to the start of the Spanish La Liga campaign. The heavily anticipated fixture will see the newly crowned champions of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 take on the winners of the Copa del Rey.
Vilanova is determined to lead the Azulgrana to their first trophy under his management. The Spaniard is adamant that the Catalans have what it takes to secure the Spanish Super Cup.
The man who served as Pep Guardiola’s assistant in the last three seasons is also very eager to take the upper hand over Real Madrid’s Jose Mourinho as the match will be his first El Clasico as the manager of the Nou Camp outfit.
Considering the legacy left behind by Barca’s recently departed boss, Guardiola, many believe that Vilanova will be under a lot of pressure.
In his first season as the trainer for the Spanish giants, Guardiola managed to lead the team to 6 trophies. Although it is not impossible to repeat the feat, many are of the opinion that it is highly unlikely for Barca’s new manager to record the same stats
as his predecessor.
The Catalan tactician believes that the Spanish Super Cup is an important competition and he will try his best to make sure that Barcelona wins it.
While talking to reporters, Tito was quoted as saying:
"The Super Cup is clearly important. In Barcelona, there are no competitions that are not important. Of course it would be good to start by winning the Super Cup, it is always good to win. Being in the Barcelona first team, comfort is never comfortable.”
“It is true that we are calm, but we also come to win many titles and be recognised by everyone. Making it better is very difficult. I am aware of the difficulty. I am aware that people are keen to continue to see the team play well and see the team keep
winning."
Barcelona were the winners of the Spanish Super Cup last season, it will be interesting to see if they are able to repeat that feat.
