The Barcelona coach believes Benfica will try their best to attack La Blaugrana in the last game of the Champions League and warns his side against complacency.
The Barcelona coach will be taking on Benfica in the UEFA Champions League and even though La Blaugrana have already qualified for the next round of the prestigious competition, Vilanova is taking things seriously against the Portuguese-based club.
The Catalan boss knows that Benfica are going to come with all guns blazing when they take on the challenge of La Blaugrana as it is their only chance to qualifying for the next round of the tournament.
Barcelona have won the amount of games which are required to reach the next round and even though they lost the game against Celtic, they have still managed to top their respective group.
On the other hand, Benfica need to win the game against the mighty http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 in order to qualify for the next round, while Celtic are favourites to reach the round of 16, as they are taking on a relatively easier side in the group.
“Benfica are playing for their position in the next round and will come into the game to attack. The team will be there to try and win the game.”
“We are representing Barcelona and even if it were a friendly game we would try everything to win.”
“We are in great form, but we have to maintain it. Certainly there are things to improve. Who will I play? There are players coming back from injury that tomorrow’s game would be perfect for them to pick up the pace in.”
“There are also players from the second team and youth side who can prove themselves for the future. I see highly motivated players for this game.”
Even though Vilanova has stated that he will be fielding a younger side against Benfica, the Argentinean star, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296, has been added to the list of players who will be in the starting line-up.
While many suggest that this is only because he is about to beat Gerd Muller’s record, Vilanova has claimed that he is doing it because the Argentine is an important part of the team.
