How much Iron(II)Sulphate of unknown concentration is needed to titrate 25.0cm3 of Potassium Maganate(VII) of 1.00mol/dm3?

  1. The balanced equation is :

    5 Fe2+ + MnO4- + 8H+ >> 4 H2O + Mn2+ + 5 Fe3+

    Moles MnO4- = 0.025 L x 1.00 = 0.025

    Moles Fe2+ = 5 x 0.025 =0.125

    Mass FeSO4 = 0.125 mol x 151.91 g/mol =19.0 g
