Tivo help please!?

Okay so i was thinking about getting a Tivo, but i only have basic cable with no cable box.

Will Tivo give me more channels and movie channels? Or will i have to buy a different system for that?

no, tivo will not give you more channels, but what it will do is allow you to manage your channels, record your programs, play games, listen to music on your TV.

Not if you buy the cheaper Series 2. If you buy a TiVo HD or Series 3 you can order a CableCard from your cable company which will give you all that with the TiVo. You will have to pay your company a small monthly fee for the CableCard and you may also have to pay extra for other channels you would want to get.

with a series 2 tivo, you will just be able to record the shows available on the channels already available to you.

on a series 3 tivo, you can get a cablecard which would allow for more channels to be provided (available through your cable provider, like comcast, time warner or at&t).
