Tmaam likely to upset Ittirad in Trust Inns Publicans Handicap at Haydock
Roger Varian has a wonderful strike rate and his high status charge, Ittirad, makes plenty of appeal in the Trust Inns Publicans Handicap, but preference is for Tmaam, who is making his seasonal debut at Haydock on Wednesday,
June 13, 2012.
According to the schedule, the 1m3f200y event will be kicked off at 15:50 (GMT). The going is good to soft and the ultimate champion will be given a purse worth £6,663.
Alongside the aforementioned pair, the line-up for the class 3 meeting comprises of Mica Mika, Purification, Number Theory, Very Good Day, Royal Swain, Bollin Greta, Alakhan and Eye Of The Tiger.
Tmaam was mighty impressive last season. After making a couple of unlucky outings, the bay and brown colt unchained the shackles in terrific style, sealing an emphatic victory at Bath in September last year.
Casino At bet365.com Maiden Stakes saw Mark Johnston’s trainee grabbing the top place by 3¾ lengths. Tmaam was unlucky to miss the gold medal in his last appearance at Newmarket. Under Paul Hanagan, he ran well, but fell short
by one and a half lengths.
After a long break, Dynaformer’s son is full of energy and with the desired conditions at Haydock, he has a great chance of bagging the winning prize.
On the other hand, Ittirad is determined to improve his work after an unlucky seasonal debut. The audience at Epsom saw him ending up fourth in the Investec City And Suburban Handicap. The ground is not so heavy this time and
therefore, one can expect the American gelding to come up with an improved work.
Mica Mika made his comemake with a huge bang last month, winning the Gravity Global Investments Handicap by two and a quarter lengths at Chester. Perpetuating his good work, he recently seized the runner-up place at York. Although
he is in winning momentum, a promotion in the grade will put him under immense pressure.
Ittirad boasts the strongest profile and will be a safe option for the punters. Nonetheless, Tmaam is a risk worth taking. In the favourable conditions, the Mark Johnston-trained has the best chance of finishing top of the podium.
We wish the best of luck to all runners.
