well im an africian american boy, im 16 and want to visit russia by the age or 18, i love the country and language and i am currently learning how to speak it, well im feeling discouraged now cause some say i shouldnt go and some say you will be ok, jus watch out for skinheads like everyone else in russia, so do you think i should continue learning the language and go to russia one day, please give me positive answers, please and thank you

Well, if you love the culture and the language then OF COURSE! Go on with your studies and do not listen to those who have never been there and do not know what the culture is like. Yes, there are racists and nationalists in Russia, but it is like that ANYWHERE, an you can not judge a nation by the actions and thoughts of a few people.

As a tourist, in any country, you should be carefuly regardless of what your ethnicity is. But cancelling your trip would leave a great void in your heart, especially if you have been studying the language and wanted to see the country for a long time. I wish you success in your studies and safe trip to Russia, hopefully very soon.
