What is germany's heritage? I mean what is their race?

  1. Germany has a similar race to other Caucasians in that area - Denmark, Poland, Netherlands, Belgium, even France.  The country has grown and shrunk over the years.  Prussia was once a country and now part of what existed as Prussia is Austria and part is Germany.  

    I'm German-American, and there are things to be proud of and obviously some things that were appalling, but my family came to America well before the 20th century atrocities.


  2. Well, German. Some Slavian folk, some Scandinavian, occupied by the Romans, Eastern Roman Empire in Constantinople (nowadays Istanbul), Spain, Portugal, North Africa...

    Pretty good genes, I'd suppose. My ancestors from my mother's side are Slavic, and my father's grandparents were Romanian gypsy. Centuries ago. I'm German, but most people take me for Italian.

    There is a "Germanic" race which you might talk about in anthropology; but there is no "German" race, and never has been.
