  1. I would guess that the biggest way this book has touched my life was teaching me that it is not worth being a bigot or a racist. My father is a racist and that is how I grew up. Some of us had to rely on outside sources to help us find a moral "middle of the road" and this book helped me find mine. Good luck to you!

  2. After Boo saves Jem and Scout they are discussing whether or not they should charge him with a crime for killing Bob Ewell.

I think after they saw what happened to Tom Robinson even though he was innocent they decided against turning him in.

They said it would be like Killing a Mockingbird. (a sin)

It made me think that sometimes you need to keep your mouth shut to do the right thing.

    The mob isn't always right.

  3. I think To Kill a Mockingbird is an amazing book!

I'm not sure if it personally changed me, but the points that it made really hit me. Like the part where Scout and Jem are trying to figure out the social classes of people in Maycomb, and Scout says "maybe there's just 1 type...folks"

This book really makes the point that all men are created equal. People should be judged by what kind of person they are, what lies in their hearts. Not by the color of their skin, the area they live, or the family they were born into.

Also, Atticus Finch's line "don't judge a man till you've been in his shoes and walked around a little"

The kids judged Arthur "Boo" Radley a little too quickly, but at the end Scout discovered that he was nothing but a lonely man, doing nothing but helping them.

To Kill a Mockingbird made so many social statements, and I think everyone should read it....grownups, teens, it's just a great book!

  4. I don't think it really made a difference to me at all, but I did disagree with people who said it sucked. It's a great book.

  5. It hasn't made any difference to my life.

More thumbs down, keep them coming.

    GAL

  6. Wow! That book was really good---wait, are you really asking, or is it for a report?

  7. Loved the book, loved the b&white film.  Never judge a book by its cover!

  8. Personally, it did not make much dif to me.

But its a gd classic which shows how unfair and cruel ppl unfortunately are.

  9. It didn't. I read it and thought it was sappy and diluted, skirting round a potentially interesting topic. I pondered over why anybody would think this was a well-written book, or life changing- it's patronising and preachy.

  10. This book really made me realize that people are never to be judged by their appearance or how other people judge them. Also, to always do the right thing. Atticus defends Tom even though he knows the jury will call Tom guilty despite the evidence, but he does the right thing, hoping for an appeal. Also, the stories lead Scout to think Bo is a monster, but he ends up saving her life.

  11. It made me realise that prejudice comes in many shapes and forms, and in all walks of life. It taught me to show kindness to others, even if they were different to me, and to view the world with an open mind.

  12. I can't say that it made any difference in my life.  It made me think and reinforced my belief that all people are worthy of dignity and respect and that racism and prejudice are wrong, but it did not affect my life.  It was a good read.

  13. this is your homw work question huh?!

do it yourself, its how you learn.

  14. Les Miserables!!! by Victor Hugo!!!

  15. It made me see that having personal integrity and respect for all men, no matter what their station in life, leads to a kind of dignity that can't be achieved any other way. It also showed me that there is no room for racial intolerance in this world, and that the innocence of a child is an important thing.
