To Mark: 250 hp 6 cylinder cummins diesel b series motors?

thanks for yr help, it is for my husband. symptoms are lack of power, blowing a bit of smoke, the old turbo worked better and it needed replacing.

I had a set of 210 6BTCummins and had a problem just like this. How many hours are on the engine? Mine had about 1200 hours and I needed to pull the injector pump and have it rebuilt. I also did my injectors at the same time. The problem with the pump was it was not putting out the pressures needed. I put it on and it was like a new engine. I am guessing he has already checked things like fuel filters, air intake and the other ideas already mentioned. The other thing is did you just change the prop? If so did the pitch or diameter get changed?
