Would you be offended? Let's say she was willing to give your children your last name, but she just wanted to keep her last name, no hyphens? Would it bother you?

  1. ugh, marriage should not be based on who  name is at the end , it's a bond of heart and spirit

  2. I wouldn't be mad because I'm never going to marry. The chance of being financially crippled after a divorce is too high, especially with the divorce rate nowadays.

  3. It wouldn't bug me at all, I don't think it's fair to women in the first place that they HAVE to. it bugs me I can't find women friends I went to school with because I have no ide what last name they have now adays.

  4. I'd ditch her at the alter.

  5. I'd be upset..my mind would start trying to figure out if she really wanted to be married. If she was in showbiz (or anything equivalent) and keeping her last name was essential for her career then i wouldn't care.

But...if she just didn't want to change it, knowing that taking my last name was ceremonious, it would be a sort of slap in the face and to me connote that she may not be as committed to the marriage as i thought she was.

Lets just say I'd be having my lawyer take an extra read-through of the pre-nup at that point.

  6. I wouldn't care, but my last name is pretty cool, so I guess I would be kind of confused.

  7. To be honest, no. Jo is such a plain last name, to begin with.
