  1. I like the way it look for England at the moment..  2 wickets have fallen in just 7 overs.  22 for 2.

  2. After the first day's play, no they don't.

The only chance they have of posting a decent total rests with the overnight not out pair...if either of them goes early on the second morning then England should be batting before lunch.

The match is very much England's not to win. Don't forget that they've got NZ 208/6 without Sidebottom having bowled at all well, and with Broad going at 4.66 an over.

For future tests NZ should consider batting McCullum at 3, Oram at 4 and Vettori at 5 as they are easily the best batsmen available to them at the moment. While they're at it, they should employ a communications expert to try to get through to Taylor that he's playing in a test match, not a meaningless T20 game...

    EDIT

And now after day two, you can see the trouble they would have been in yesterday had Sidebottom bowled properly. Unless England make a mess of it, NZ could be looking at a very heavy (possibly an innings) defeat.

  3. Yes

I'm an England fan, and just as i speak England have won the toss and decided to bowl 1st!. NZ have to score over 300 in the 1st innings to stand a chance of winning the test match. With the recent rain, and the groggy feel to the 1st day, batting will be hard for the New Zealanders but if they stick in there and bat the first 2 sessions for lets say the loss of 5 wickets then they can go on and make over 350!. If NZ get out for anything less than 300 than i cant see anything but a comfortable England victory.

Now is the time for the NZ batsmen to stand up and be counted!! Can they do it? only time will tell

  4. Good bowling attack, top captain, Why not?

Anyway, it's a lousy forecast so it'll probably be a draw.

Great to see New Zealand back in the UK, though.

  5. If England play to their full potential they should win comfortably, but fortunately they don't always fire together

  6. yes !!  they do !!,,,visiting teams seem to do well against England for some reason ,,apart from.>>>> AUSTRALIA ..LIKE LAST TIME WITH THE ASHES THEY SUCKED LOL!!!

    not really england played well

    ..

  7. After yesterdays play YES they definitely do, Brendan McCullum/Jacob Oram have given them a very good chance with a stand of 99 for the 6th wicket. At the start of the test I would have said that after the way in which they have played in recent tests and the fact that they have players in the IPL that NO they wouldn't have a chance as the IPL players will need time to re adjust and they just werent good enough before but the belief is there in the dressing room and McCullum was there at the crease - looks poised to be a good test with conditions favouring the bowlers over the next few days
