I'm sorry to say that I am not a veggie, but my little sister is and I do my best to support her because I am proud of her. I buy all the take out for my family and I make sure never to buy anywhere where they dont have a vegetarian alternative for her.

Today I went to carl's jr. and before ordering I asked them if they had a veggie burger. They said yes, but I repeated myself, a veggie burger. and agan they said yes. So I went ahead and ordered. Went I brought it home it turned out they just gave me a famous star with no meat. I was upset and I drove it back and asked to speak with the manager, there was no manager so they got me the supervisor. The supervisor was the person who took my order. I explained to her the situation. She continued to say that what she gave me was indeed what a veggie burger was and then asked me well what do you think a veggie burger is. Upset, I explained to her what a veggie burger was, told her she could not help me so asked for the number for the manager and I stormed off without even accepting the refund. I was mad because they tried to pass it off as a veggie burger just to make a sale and because of it my sister felt bad and locked herself in her room without eating a thing. My mom is making her something now, but Im still upset because mealtime is family time for us and its not the first time a fastfood restaurant has screwed it up for us.

I guess I just needed to vent. thanks.

  1. Hey, those are actually really good. People used to look at me like I was crazy because I would order a "hamburger" with no meat...just veggies. lol To me it's not really the meat, anyways, that gives the burger it's flavor. It's the vegetables and sauces.

  2. You are a good sister for trying to help. Here is what I would do. Look on-line to see if you can find the menu of the restaurant you will be getting your take-out from. That would tell you if there are options there for your sister. The menu should have descriptions of all their entrees so you should be able to find her something. If the restaurant has no vegan alternatives then you will see this before you go there and won't have to worry about the items you purchase. Hope this helped, and don't get discouraged. Many restaurants are putting more vegan choices on the menu to accommodate the growing number of vegans who want to dine out.

  3. I'm really sorry to hear that.

A lot of people really just don't understand vegetarians. And it sucks that all restaurants don't have a vegetarian menu. I'm a vegetarian in a house of all meat eaters, so I can relate. The best thing you can do is just support your sister. It's people like you who keep us vegetarian's from going crazy, ha ha..

Good luck to you and your sister, and just remember it's okay to vent! :)

  4. I can understand why you were upset.  I personally would have taken it as a lesson learned...don't buy from them anymore.  You're sister didn't have to storm off and lock herself in her room...unless she is like 10.  She should have eaten it and been happy you tried.

Another thing...Fast food is unhealthy and pretty much disgusting.  Try picking things up from healthier places.  Fast food places don't have to offer vegetarian items.  In fact you should be glad that some do.  When you buy at places like that you highly risk cross contamination from meat anyways.

Find one place that does it right and stick to it...or else stop at a grocery store and buy a few things for her like fresh fruit chunks, rolls, faux lunch meat, and something sweet like pudding or yogurt.

It seems to me like your sister is spoiled.  Your Mother should have told her to get out of her room and stop being a baby.

  5. If this is the worst problem you encounter related to trying to eat meatless in this society, you will be lucky.

  6. I would have eaten both and told sis to eat a cold tater and wait.

  7. I'm a vegetarian and i once got ordered a veggie burger from big mouths, and it turned out to be meat. i went back and literally threw it back at them, i never understand why vegetarians never have a choice in what they eat, you had every right to go back and complain though.

  8. Well what has happened has already happened  so you can't undo it. I would just go tomorrow back to the fast food place and talk to the manager then. Don't let that other person get under your skin a moment longer. If you do, than you are allowing them to control your emotions. Be happy, make the best of the rest of the evening!! Your sister will get over it and things will be ok. Who knows your sister may get a free veggie burger tomorrow!!!!  Smile!!!
