Question:

To all you cruiser haters...?

Would you still hate cruisers and/or HD bikes if they performed at the same level as sport bikes? Obviously they don't, but do you really hate how they look or how they perform? Would you rock a cruiser if the performance roles were reversed?

  1. I ride a cruiser. I think a sport bike would be fun but I'm all about taking a relaxing COMFORTABLE ride. I have some buddies who have Hyabusas and things and I think it's kind of pointless. They paid an extra 5k for a bike that will do over 200mph and they will never get to use that power, it just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Also, I don't really like the image of a sport bike, alot of cocky think their too cool tools drive sport bikes and I don't want to be part of that group.

  2. I'm with you bro!  Frankly, I can't stand these over-engineered, swiss-watch bikes that will fall apart on just one improper s***w turn.

They are built so cheaply, the would rather cast one custom part good for maybe to model years than extend a design life cycle.

Classic too much time in front of a CAD system and not enough time in a prototype garage.  Also, do any of these swiss-watch bike designers actually ride?  That would really explain the current line of Hondas.

  3. I love an old school style bike- I think a lot of cruisers look straight BA- but unfortunately the vast majority (not all) don't really get my blood pumping. I ride my bike- I don't just look at it. Next bike I buy will be something in the line of hi-po old school.

  4. Naah, its just all about the image.  I don't care to maintain a corporate image when I am riding.

  5. if the performance were on par, I would understand them better...

mix rampant nostalgia with modern performance, and you have something...

mix rampant nostalgia with outdated c**p and you have outdated c**p...

edit: kato, yes it's the rider that continues the argument, but the bikes themselves are antique pieces of c**p...

  6. I heard all this a bunch of times, my dog wants out.

  7. I think blackdog is inadvertently hitting the nail on the head. When he says people that "act like a badass" what that says to me is someone he perceives as thinking they're a badass since we cannot really know what a person thinks about them self. Basically what this translates into is that many metric riders feel that some Harley riders think they are somehow superior, which those of us that ride Harley's know is not true. I don't think any of this has to do with motorcycles at all, just prejudice amongst fellow human beings. No Harley haters will really come clean and admit it has nothing to do with the bike and everything to do with their perception of the rider/owner. It is pure and simple bigotry and nothing more.

  8. I'm getting a sport bike because i've sat on sports, and I've sat on cruisers, and I myself LOOK better on a sport and it's just more comfortable to me. I don't hate cruisers, but I don't like a lot of people who ride them and give me the finger.

  9. Different strokes for different folks. For the love of God give it a rest will ya?

  10. I don't hate cruisers or even harleys for that matter...I just can't stand the w@nkers that buy a harley thinking that makes them a "bad a$$
