Is the salary good value for the job you do because I know it is a very poor rate and is it easy to live off the amount you receive?

  1. It depends on the location to how well they pay.  I live in the south east and I make less than $10 an hour.  I'm in my early 20's and I am married with no kids.  This is great spending money and I help pay a few small bills like gas, cell phone, and grocery's.  It is rewarding and  it has given me a lot of knowledge about children.  If you budget your money you might make it.  I'm still in college and am hoping to have a better paying job later on.  The only down side is that some parents make me feel like their hired help and they try to put me down a lot.  I try not to let it bother me.  Not all of them are that way but you do run into a few.  You have to have a lot of patience to work in this field but I enjoy it.  Good Luck.

  2. Well lve worked with Nursery children for over 30 years.and lm still alive.lol.....all\depends on the qualifications you have as to your rate of pay....ld suggest that you look into this and work out your finances..........but let me tell you its the best job in the world!!

  3. It depends on where you work, the type of setting, and your education and experience. I work at a child care/ early head start center.  I make very good money for my field and also get great benefits which include excellent health insurance for myself, my husband and our two children ( i only pay $20 a week premiums) excellent vacation and sick time, and  I also get to bring my children to work with me (I do have to pay full amount for that though).  I do have my bachelor's degree in early childhood and I am the "lead teacher" so I have a lot of responsibility in the room.  Including staff schedules, staff evaluations, parent visits, developmental screenings, etc.  So, to sum it up, yes you can make a living out of it, you just have to find the right place to work.  They may be few and far between, but they are out there. I know I am very fortunate to have the job that I do.  I also know I am one of few people who can honestly say that I truly LOVE my job.  I work with infants and it is the best!!!
