To anyone that has taken Lexapro...?

What side effects happened to you?

I'm starting Lexapro very soon and i'm scared that i'm going to gain weight from it, even though my doctors say it didn't happen to their other patients. So, my question is, did you gain weight while on Lexapro and what other side effects occured?

what a drug. lexapro makes you lose your appetite. sexual side effects too. you'll probably lose weight, i'm on it now...its the best. no more crying too!  good luck...

I had zero weight gain and my only side effect was being happy and myself again.

If you give it time, at least 4 week, more like 8, and you aren't seeing a difference, talk to your Dr. again and maybe you'll need to try another type.

I take Lexapro and I was really worried about sexual side effects, but that didn't happen. It turns out that most people don't have sexual side effects. The one thing I do suffer from, and one of my friends whom is on Lexapro also suffers from, is night sweats. I am talking about waking up in the night with my clothes, sheets, and pillows soaked to the bone with sweat. That is really the only thing that bothers me.

I did not gain any weight at all from lexapro.  I've never had any side effects from it either.  It did however help with depression and anxiety, especially my anxiety.  I personally highly recommend it.

Dont take any perscription medicine....Drink Black tea the chia type that has cinnamon and ginger...this will reduce your anxiety. Also drink one ounce of wine every morning before work or study and at night going to bed, you will beat this anxiety thing.

I take Wellbutrin SR (150 mg) in the morning, and Lexapro (10 mg) in the evening - and that has worked very well for me.



I've actually lost a few pounds in the last year.  I think the Wellbutrin SR helps me to be more active, and want to do things, while the Lexapro does seem to make me more docile (and taking it in the evening helps me sleep, too).



You might ask your doctor about that, Wellbutrin SR and Lexapro work on different areas of the brain - so they kind of compliment each other.
