  1. The nearest station to Islington is Kings Cross.

  2. Are you sure that you are in London? or is this a wind up?

  3. Of course there are tube stations, they're just not called "Islington". Walk up to Liverpool Road and then straight down to Highbury and Islington tube station. It's only about half a mile.

  4. there are several tube stations in Ealing but all of them are on the Piccadilly line ... there are Piccadilly line tube stations in Islington at Caledonian Road and Kings Cross so it might be a good idea to use one of these then you have a straight-through tube journey instead of having to change

from Barnsbury Square, if you walk through to Caledonian Road you can get a bus either going to the right up to Caledonian Road tube, or left down to Kings Cross ... you'd need to try both of them out to find out which way is best ... however I know the traffic congestion around Kings Cross, especially at rush hour, is awful so maybe going to Caledonian Road is the best idea ... if you're a fast walker it might be quicker to walk up to Caledonian Road tube station as it's only a couple of stops on the bus

  5. All will become clear if you use the tfl.gov.uk site's journey planner  to give you a precise a-b route

  6. There is a tube station in Islington.

It's on the Bank branch of the Northern Line and it's called Angel. It comes out in Upper Street

From there it's no more than a 5 minute walk to Barnsbury Square.

  7. "Not a tube station in islington"????

    Are you serious??

Caledonian Road, King's Cross, Angel, Highbury & Islington (and possibly Finsbury Park) all come under the "Islington" umbrella...you really need to get your facts straighter :o)

All you need to do is go to Google maps, type in your address and you will see the nearest tube to you.  Actually I'd say Angel, Highbury, Caledonian Road  and King's Cross will all be equally convenient, although K's C has far more connections than the others so that might be best (they are all within 15 minutes' walk from Barnsbury Square).

PLEASE just look it up on a map!!!!

EDIT: You also have a train (not tube) station literally within 5 minutes' walk, it's Caledonian & Barnsbury rail station.

Just walk down to Caledonian Road then turn right and walk about 3 minutes, you will see the railway bridge overhead.

  8. You should know about this web site:

    http://journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk

This is the web site for Transport For London's (TFL) journey planner.  Enter the address of where you're starting and where you want to go (even the post code is enough), and the page will show you multiple routes.  Look at a route for more detail, and you'll get a map showing how to walk to the tube station or bus stop, along with an estimated walking time.  It's enormously helpful, even when you've lived in London for years.
