its my dream to be a criminal psychologist. only i need to know that im going to be well suited to it. most people say that to work with criminals and murderers etc you need to be slightly mad yourself. i would say im fairly eccentric, i'm ruthless, i can be quite harsh and cold. but im quite good at figuring people out. im an excellent judge of character. and i dont just like to think that. i hated my aunts husband before she married him and he cheated several times. i hated my sisters best friend before she slept with my sisters boyfriend. i could go on. i just get feelings about people.

what kind of personality do you need for this job?

  1. I would say, You would need a Cold heart to not get stressed out from doing this job since alot of these criminals have been through alot, it might affect you'r life.

  2. from what you said about yourself, i think you are suited for this.

  3. Extroverted Introvert

  4. you defiantly need to be understanding and non judgemental

  5. there all crooks,i guess a criminal personality

  6. I've done all that way back in the eighties and practiced for only three years until fizzling out for a career change and it was my dream back then too.

Personality (103) will be the best course offered.  late with my education I was introduced to Transactional Analysis which played a major role especially while working with convicts.

You have asked a very complicated question to breakdown for a simple answer here.  Most of the things that I write about now day's are structured for young people with criminal minds and believe me most big shots in my business have criminal minds because it's all about the money, so replace the word ruthless with DOG EAT DOG.

In other words you need to feel it, visualize it, and understand their motive related to how that individual transpired such a vivid imagination and desire to commit that crime, yet it's deeper than that because the only way to understand is to examine their past experiences all the way back to when they were toddlers and up to the present.

If you were a heroin attic and want to get clean, wouldn't you prefer to get counseling from another heroin attic that has been clean for awhile because he has been there?  Have you been there? Are you a criminal?  Do you know what it's like to snap and kill someone?  Then how can you be a good criminologist?  Feelings girl!  You've got to feel what they feel and want to act it all out too.  Just don't do it!

  7. diplomacy, i would think would be really important. you'd have to know how to get information from people without angering them or offending them in any way. an open mind wouldn't hurt either. remember~ anyone's capable of murder.. some people just take that one extra step and actually do it. thinking of murderers and criminals as a separate class of people is sure to lead you astray..

  8. such as a profiler on criminal minds? i dont quite understand
