To be a zooligist do you have to work at a zoo?

Or can you travel the world and study animals and their behaviors and what not. I think that would be the coolest job in the world.

    you can work for research companies and universities and actually get to travel the world.. those opportunities are rare, and you have to be qualitified/lucky to get them.. but they are there..

    zoologist see how animals are in their natural habitats which isnt a zoo.

  3. You're a bit unclear on the concept.  A zoologist is a scientist who studies animals, but if you're looking to travel the world, zoology is probably not the best vocation to pick simply because most of a zoologist's work is done in museums, labs and libraries.

    If you're looking to travel the world studying animal behaviors, major in photography or cinematography and pick up a minor in zoology.  You'll have much more freedom as a free-lance nature videographer than you could ever have as a paid zoologist, and I think you'd find it much closer to being what you'd consider to be the coolest job in the world.
