I want to buy a car with my aunt being the co-signer and also listed as primary driver for insurance. I don't want her to have to go 300 miles with me if i find something though. I know i can change ownership before i register in my state for long term right? But is there a legal way to go with just me and friend to pick up the car and we can do the paperwork when i get back? She will also be the co-signer of the loan because i have no credit at 18 years old so how would i do this?

  1. Well, on our insurance I am a primary Driver along with my father and I don't own the car.

The status of "Primary Driver" is who will be driving the car the most.

They won't know if you are really the one that drives the car most or if your aunt is... If asked, just tell them what they want to hear.

Unless they install a scanning device in your car to actually CHECK (Which it wouldn't surprise me if they eventually do) then you are good to go.

  2. It doesnt matter if your primary driver or not (they wont know if you are anyway), as long as your name is on the insurance it will be fine

  3. I would like to suggest you get as much information as you could before taking action, here is a good place for that.http://car-loan.free-deal.info/free-car-...
