  1. Commercial pilots must have perfect vision...which is 'unaided'.  It depends what the definition of 'unaided' is.  If having an operation to attain perfect vision is defined as 'aid'...then it won't matter...you will not be accepted.  Commercial, private licences all have different criteria....as do different countries....so you need to be somewhat more specific as what sort of 'pilot' want to be.


  2. There are very different standards for private, commercial and military pilots, you'll need to check exactly what is required for your ambition.

    The FAA's view of Lasik can be seen below, along with the FDA information on the procedure.

    For suitable people the likelihood of a good outcome is high.

    But there are risks, and these are inherent in the procedure.
