  1. Depends on the school, it depends on their admissions criteria and if you meet all their criteria.

My best advice is to contact all the local schools in your area and ask them directly - how many students apply to their program every year vs. how many spots they have for admission, do they have a wait list, does the wait list carry over from year to year or do you need to reapply each year, etc.

I'd apply to more than one school to increase your odds of getting in more quickly.

  2. Sooo many variables:  If you were a good student in high school, you should be able to go straight to nursing school.  Start checking out the websites of nursing schools in your area, or where you'd like to attend school.  Make calls, plan visits and ask all of your questions to the Admissions people at the various schools.

  3. It depends on the school you go to. The school that I go to requires only one pre-requisite and that's Biology 103, however, they encourage you to have all of your biology courses complete because that gives you additional points towards acceptance. I am going forth with the LPN program that only takes a year and then as soon as I become an LPN, I'm going straight back to an LPN to RN mobility track program that only takes 2 or 3 semesters. Everyone does it differently, I chose to take this route. Some colleges are more selective than others. You could always apply, see if you get accepted and if not either try to apply again for the next term or perhaps look into taking the same route that I am.

    Good luck!
