To become Consulate General , what qualification is required and how to apply for it ?

  1. Have to complete any college course or get a course on Foreign Service.  If you can get an MBA or masters degree on International Studies or Diplomacy much better.  After finishing your Bachelor's degree course you can get a Foreign Service Officers Exam, have to pass that exam first for you to become an officer.  In the Phils. once you  passed it you will be automatically become a FSO IV (Foreign Service Officer rank-IV), being the lowest or junior officer.  You have to passed through the series of promotions until you reaches the rank FSO I.  Promotions varies, sometimes every 2-3 yrs depending upon the availability of the slots or government funds.  Once you reached FSO I, you have to get another test, the Career Ministers Exam.  Once you passed it you will be a Career Minister and only then you can be appointed as Consul General by your government representing another country which your country has diplomatic ties/relations with.
