  1. hmmmmmmmmmmm  tricky as you dont give much info.  Most hydrangeas bloom on second year growth.  That is, the stems/stalks that grow THIS year will bloom NEXT year.  But, if you pruned the plant during it's first year in the ground, it probably will never bloom.  I also agree to just let the plant grow for two years and see what happens.  You can prune any canes that bloom back to the ground after the first frost.   Good luck

  2. Not enough information to tell you what's wrong if yours.

But - the two most common reason for hydrangeas not blooming are:

    1)  Pruning at the wrong time. (different kinds get pruned different times of year - the wrong time cuts off next year's bloom)  If in doubt about what kind of hydrangea you have, stop pruning it altogether for at least a year and a half, and see if you get blooms.

    2)  Not enough sun.  Some Hydrangea can take a fair amount of sun, most need part shade.  But any, if it gets TOO much shade, will not bloom well.

Also - if you're fertilizing it - stop.  Sometimes that will get you lots of leaves, and no flowers.
