I read somewhere that you have to be the legal age of majority of the province that you are bringing it back into...

I am 18, legal age in Quebec... but not in ontario (where i am from)

I am planning to buy in vermont to bring back to canada (via quebec)

  1. If you're bringing back alcohol TO Quebec, then you're legal, but you'll be illegal once you set foot in Ontario, which basically means you'll illegal all the way. Unless you manage to drink it all up before you get to Ontario, which I doubt you want to do.

I mean the same concept applies when Ontarians cross the border over to Quebec to go clubbing and drink; as soon as they step into the province, they become legal.

Since there's no control between the Quebec/Ontario border, I'm guessing you're fine buying alcohol in Vermont.
