  1. i say heel to toe, on the balls of you're feet may be painful for long periods of time.

    go for what evers comfortable.

    try one run on the balls of you're feet and the other heel t toe.


  2. heals to toe. If you run on the balls of your feet you will get shin splints.

  3. I do both long and short distances and i know for a fact in endurance runs you do heel to toe.  If you have ever watched world class sprinters you would notice how they are on their toes.  Heel to toe is more relaxed and on tippy-toe you use your calfs, like in sprinting.  Hope that helps! =)

  4. Building endurance and the way your feet hit the ground have nothing to do with each other. If you are going to be doing distance running it will be better to run heel to toe because it takes a lot less energy and it is generally more comfortable for running long distances. Running on the balls of your feet is something usually seen with distance runners and  for distance running could also lead to problems like Plantar fasciitis.  I hope this helps you out
