Former Pakistani coach, Richard Pybus, has said that coaching the Green Shirts is one of the toughest jobs in International cricket. He rated Pakistani players among the most talented but believes that is really hard to manage them properly.
Pybus coached the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013. He was appointed the mentor of the Green Shirts once again before the
next world cup, which was held in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 in 2003. However, the Pakistani team failed to make an impression in that event.
However, Pakistan team has done well recently, in the coaching of former captain and legendary fast bowler, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Waqar-Younis-Maitla-c96193, but he has also decided to step down because of some medical reasons.
Apart from expressing the difficulties attached with coaching the Men in Green, Pybus appreciated the performance of Younis as a coach and admitted that the former great was doing a fantastic job.
Pybus said, “It's [position of Pakistan national coach] one of the toughest, if not the toughest job in world cricket, just because of all the factors that are impacting all the time on the coaching staff. I thought Waqar was doing a good job.”
The South African added that the Pakistan team has always been surrounded with controversies, which hampered their performance over the years.
Disputes within the team is another major issue with Pakistan cricket, which leads to politics and player power. However, the Green Shirts have been doing pretty well in International cricket since the last one year, which is very heartening.
Pybus is not happy that Waqar is leaving the job because of medical reasons, but he wished the legendary fast bowler good health and a bright future.
“There are always issues within the team, but I'd seen genuine improvement there. I was a bit saddened when I read that he was stepping down, which I also saw was for medical reasons. I hope he's okay and it's nothing too serious,” Pybus added.
Pakistan’s next assignment starts next month, when they take on http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033.
