  1. marry me

  2. Don't worry about them. I run and if anyone is rude to me(and I KNOW this isn't nice but it shuts them up) if flip them off. It shuts them up. Or you could tell them you don't see them running. Just stuff I do when I run. If you have an ipod make sure you put it in one ear so u can still be aware of your surroundings. If you want more running tips just email me!

  3. Sweetie --------- People not going to lead you no where in life------- if people make fun of you are you rely going to try to change your self --and not being your self -------- ????

  4. I definitely have felt this way.  It can be embarrassing but hey, the people you are afraid to run in front of aren't running, so they can't make fun of you or look down on you for wanting to get in shape!!! Running is good for the mind and body, so I strongly encourage you to do it!!! Good luck!!!

  5. get over it s***w those people

  6. download some of ur fave songs onto ur mp3,mp4,or ipod so u can listin 2 it 2 keep u distracted. if u dont have 1, ask a friend 2 run w u. & start off w small distances (1 mi. 2 mi. ect) & get longer every few times u run. hope this helps!

  7. its natural to be embarrased, even thin girls who want to get toned are sometimes embarrased to start running o.O

but its the kind of thing where, the FIRST time schoolmates will see you theyl smirk or grin, but it wont last. if you just make a thing of doing it regularly then ul start to blend in like the trees and the footpath.

and yeah, everyone looks at runners, especially the fat runners, and maybe even laugh.. but i dunno, in the end your doing it to get fit, and everyone will think 'good on her' so its all sort of possitive somehow yknow?

or if you could find a friend to run with, that sometimes helps sevenfold.

or just drive somewhere quiet and run around there? country roads, park, lake, yknow.. whatever. youl figure something out

dont be afraid of what people think tho, people are judging all the time no matter what we do, but runners need to be seen more often in my opinion! good on em =]

btw the first time you run your gonna feel like ****, and dont worry, this is normal. when you get sore and tired walk for a bit, then run again, etc until your totally nackered.

BE HYDRATED BEFORE YOU RUN (alot of water a few hours before you run) and stretch immediately before you run, to eliminate chances of stitch etc.

    happy running =D

  8. Hi there.

I had the same problem.  I hate it when people are watching me run down the road, so I ended up running in the evening around 8 or 9 o clock, just around my neighborhood.  Its not so dark that I can't see, but dark enough so no one would recognize me.  Nobody is even really outside!!

  9. Have you ever thought of maybe running at night?

    Or early morning...?

  10. If you're serious enough about it, you won't care. So just do it, wear headphones so people will assume you can't hear them and if they see you, they won't bother trying to talk to you. I get people driving by me and saying they saw me and honked at me, but I didn't hear or see them. lol it's a relief to have the headphones excuse.

AND....... When you really get in shape, you'll want to show off, just give it time!

  11. Running is fun get your ipod and just start jogging, ignoring the people outside. Just get to your destination and back!

  12. just do it, don't pay attention if anyone does take notice in a negative way.

you have an ipod? listen to it....i don't know.....make the running fun so you won't think about it, etc

  13. Who cares about what other people think. As long as you're doing fine then dont mind anything else. It doesnt make a difference, really.

  14. You can try getting into a sport that includes running.

    like soccer.

and maybe get a few friends to play or sumthing so it wont look obvious or w/e ur embarassed of.

or you can get some one to run with you.

    that always helps!

when ur running and talking with sumone else you don't even notice anything else you kno?

i hate running on my own too!

makes me feel wierd. so thats why i get friends to tag along...

i don't have many friends that run though..lol

so yeah try those two ideas or any other sport you like.

    oo swimmings just like running.

so go to a public swimming pool or beach:)

  15. Don't be embarrassed.I know that it can be hard sometimes, but you shouldn't let that keep you from running. If that doesn't work try jumping rope.(10 minutes jump roping is equal to 30 minutes running)

  16. I used to have that problem and still a little bit. Just run past them and don't look at them just look straight ahead. Once you get the experience you'll realize no big deal. I know exactly how you feel.

  17. Run in the morning around, the earliest you can. most kids will be asleep. But don't worry if they see you, I was afraid of this too when I started. The truth is, you dont see many people you know. It only happens once in a while. If you do just smile and keep running, its no big deal

    ♥

  18. Get you an mp3 player or something like it and listen while you run... maybe it will give you more confidence and make you less aware of those around you.

  19. Just do what I do.

Buy an exercise mat (a nice thick one).

Put something heavy at each end so it won't move.

Have a bottle of water nearby that you can reach.

Run in place while you watch TV.

Vary between fast and slow running.

Do it for 30 - 60 minutes and work up a good sweat.

It works for me - it'll work for you !

  20. if you run in a good form (coordinated) theres no problem

also try running in non-busy places

and walking 6 mph also burns the calories :D

  21. just run.  your friends are not good friends if them seeing you exercise will make you embarrassed.  if you really cat get over the fact that people might see you run, do laps in your backyard

  22. Sounds like deeper issues than can be settled here.

  23. You obviously have the "imaginary stage" issue where you feel everyone is looking at you all the time, I had it in high school, we all have felt this way.  In actuality everyone is too obsessed about themselves to worry about you.  If anything, I think it is a healthy habit for you to start and it may encourage other kids to follow suit.  Go for it and good luck :)

  24. If it really concerns you that much, try running through quiet streets where your unlikely to be passed by cars. Find a path your comfortable with and run it. If somebody sees you, avoid that path.

The more you run, the less embarrassed you'll become about it. The only way to start though is to get out and run though!

  25. You can always run on a secluded street back and forth. If they see you, who cares what they would say. Just run. Atleast knowing in yourself you are getting fitter is better than people teasing you. Just think in your mind "I will be fitter than them".

  26. Don't care what people think.

    :)

  27. your friends will support you the others who cares, they are just to lazy to do it themselves

  28. I know how you feel, I use to feel the same way.  Look at it this way"  What do you think when you see someone from your school out there exercising?  Do you look at them in a bad way or do you wish you had the guts to go out there and just do it?  It's your life, your body, and trust me, after school is done and gone, you wont see most of those kids for the rest of your lives.  Good luck hun.
